June 2, 2025
1 min read

The agreement is specifically focused on improving Ethiopia's international voice traffic ecosystem and excludes traffic originating from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sudan, Jordan, Somalia, and Djibouti.

Ethio Telecom  has announced a new strategic partnership with Bankai Group , a global telecommunications provider, appointing them as its preferential international voice termination partner into Ethiopia, effective from June 1, 2025.

The agreement is specifically focused on improving Ethiopia’s international voice traffic ecosystem and excludes traffic originating from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sudan, Jordan, Somalia, and Djibouti.

The collaboration is aimed at enhancing voice quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and strengthening the overall integrity and security of international voice services. It is also part of a broader effort to modernize Ethiopia’s telecommunications infrastructure and support its digital transformation agenda.

Through this partnership, Ethio telecom and Bankai Group will work to deliver reliable, high-performance, and fraud-resistant voice services across key international corridors, reinforcing Ethiopia’s position in the global telecom network.
