This milestone marks a major expansion of the site’s capabilities, bringing its total critical power capacity to 70 megawatts.

Teraco,  a Digital Realty company, has announced the successful completion of its eighth data centre development, JB5, situated at its Isando campus in South Africa. This milestone marks a major expansion of the site’s capabilities, bringing its total critical power capacity to 70 megawatts.

Purpose-built to meet global hyperscale standards, JB5 demonstrates Teraco’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. The new facility features a cutting-edge closed-loop chilled water system with 100% free air cooling—allowing zero water usage for continuous cooling.

Constructed in a single phase, JB5 includes twelve data halls of 1,000 square meters each, spanning a total building footprint of 55,000 square meters. The facility is powered by a robust 120MVA utility power supply, reinforcing its readiness to serve the growing demands of cloud providers and enterprises across Africa.

This expansion reflects Teraco’s strategic drive to support digital transformation and data sovereignty on the continent, providing scalable infrastructure for global and local clients.
