Egypt Unlocks 5G Potential with Official Nationwide Launch
Four mobile network operators, Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, e& Egypt, and Telecom Egypt, are set to offer the service to their customers after investing $2.7 billion in 5G spectrum and licenses since 2019.

Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) officially launched 5G mobile services in the country on Wednesday, 4 June 2025.
Four mobile network operators – Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt , e& Egypt, and Telecom Egypt —are now offering the service to their customers after investing $2.7 billion in 5G spectrum and licenses since 2019.
Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly and several ministers attended the launch event held near the Pyramids.
5G networks bring high-speed capabilities to telecom users, fostering innovation and development across various applications. They also enable the simultaneous control of numerous devices—an essential capability for next-generation applications in smart cities, healthcare, and other advanced sectors.
In October 2024, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat emphasized that 5G technology would transform the national economy, drive digital transformation, and improve Egypt’s position in global ICT rankings.
