This engagement is part of the government’s broader effort to restructure key state-owned entities—such as the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and the Postal Corporation of Kenya—to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

In a strategic move to accelerate Kenya’s digital transformation, the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy held a high-level meeting with Telkom Kenya’s leadership to evaluate the company’s operational performance and align its future direction with national priorities.

The meeting was led by State Department for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Steve Isaboke, accompanied by his ICT and Digital Economy counterpart, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui. They engaged with Telkom Kenya’s executive team, including CEO Mugo Kibati, CFO Allan Wainaina, and Chief Strategy Officer Julius Cheptiony.
