As part of the initiative, MTN Uganda handed over a substantial consignment of digital equipment to the Kabalagala Youth One Stop Centre.

MTN Uganda  has officially launched a partnership with the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA ) aimed at significantly enhancing digital literacy and opportunities for young people in the city. The collaboration, launched on June 2, will see the Kabalagala Youth One Stop Centre become a hub for digital skills training, underscoring MTN’s commitment to youth empowerment and connectivity.

As part of the initiative, MTN Uganda handed over a substantial consignment of digital equipment to the Kabalagala Youth One Stop Centre. This crucial support is complemented by the installation of the MTN Skills Academy on 15 computers within the facility, providing a structured learning platform for beneficiaries. Furthermore, MTN Uganda has pledged to supply free internet connectivity to the centre for a full year, ensuring uninterrupted access to vital online resources and learning modules.

This partnership falls under the broader umbrella of MTN’s annual #21DaysOfYelloCare campaign, a dedicated period for MTN employees to volunteer their time and resources to community development initiatives. The 2025 theme, “Connecting at the Roots,” perfectly encapsulates the essence of this collaboration – fostering digital growth and opportunity at the community level, directly empowering Kampala’s youth to thrive in an increasingly digital world. The project aims to equip young individuals with essential digital competencies, opening doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and further education in Uganda’s digital economy.
