The visit aimed to evaluate internet connectivity and identify areas for further ICT development to enhance student learning.

Hon. William Kabogo Gitau today conducted a comprehensive assessment of public Wi-Fi infrastructure at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)  Msambweni Campus  and Ukunda Vocational Training Center (VTC) . The visit aimed to evaluate internet connectivity and identify areas for further ICT development to enhance student learning.

During his tour, Hon. Kabogo Gitau, accompanied by KMTC Msambweni Campus Principal Mr. Ndegwa Mwanyoa and Ukunda VTC Principal Ms. Mary Chome, engaged with staff and students across various departments. He expressed appreciation for the valuable feedback received concerning internet connection quality and overall ICT infrastructure.

In response to the feedback, Hon. Kabogo Gitau announced that the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy will significantly support both institutions. This support will include the provision of additional computers and a commitment to ensure high-speed internet connectivity. The enhanced digital resources are crucial for enabling students to access learning content virtually, fostering a more robust and accessible educational environment.

Also present during the visit were Msambweni Sub-County CIO Mr. Kunga Muli, Msambweni DCC Mr. Joseph Mutisya, and other government officials, highlighting the collaborative effort in advancing digital literacy and access within the region’s educational sector.
