The initiative aims to equip young digital talents with meaningful opportunities and employment in Rwanda’s expanding digital economy.

The Rwanda ICT Chamber , in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO)  and the Government of Luxembourg, officially launched Innovate4DigiJobs. The initiative aims to equip young digital talents with meaningful opportunities and employment in Rwanda’s expanding digital economy.

The Innovate4DigiJobs challenge goes beyond innovation for its own sake—it is designed to create inclusive, lasting impact by supporting digital solutions that uplift communities and drive sustainable growth.

Speaking at the launch, Alex Ntale, CEO of the Rwanda ICT Chamber, emphasized the initiative’s broader mission:

“Innovate4DigiJobs is not just about winning a competition – it’s about the impact we’re targeting. If your passion is about changing lives, not just chasing profits, we want to make sure you’re not left behind.”

-Alex Ntale, CEO, Rwanda ICT Chamber.

Fatima, representing the ILO, echoed this commitment to equity, stating that as the digital economy grows, the need to ensure inclusive growth is more important than ever:

“It is vital to ensure no one is left behind.”

Fatima Elsanousi  Sirelkhatim, Project Manager for the International Labour Organization (ILO), Rwanda.

Also present was Ngabo Brave, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Arts, who warned against the misuse of digital skills and encouraged young people to pursue purpose-driven innovation:

“It would be unfortunate to have digital skills and apply them in the wrong way. Innovate4DigiJobs paves a meaningful path for young people to leverage their digital talents the right way.”

Ngabo Brave, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Arts, Rwanda.

The application deadline for Innovate4DigiJobs has been extended to June 27, 2025. The call is open to business development service providers, TVET or learning institutions, social enterprises, cooperatives, and employers’ or workers’ organizations. Interested applicants can apply at ictchamber.rw/innovate4jobs-application-form.

This initiative marks a strategic step in positioning Rwanda’s youth at the forefront of digital transformation—ensuring that innovation leads not only to profit, but to people-centered progress.
