The summit, which has attracted participants from all 28 districts of Malawi as well as international delegates, is focused on equipping young people with digital skills, fostering innovation, and offering leadership mentorship.

The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA ) is mentoring more than 600 youth leaders as part of its partnership with the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM ) at the ongoing 2025 National Youth Summit in Lilongwe.

The summit, which has attracted participants from all 28 districts of Malawi as well as international delegates, is focused on equipping young people with digital skills, fostering innovation, and offering leadership mentorship.

Speaking at the event, Joseph Kadzokoya, Project Officer for MACRA’s Muuni Fund, said the fund is playing a pivotal role in driving youth-led digital innovation through seed funding, research, and strategic partnerships that transform local ideas into scalable solutions.

MACRA’s Incident Response Officer, Elton Ng’ombe, also addressed the youth, urging them to manage their digital footprints wisely, engage on social media platforms with intention, and adhere to Malawi’s digital laws.

The summit continues until Friday, with a strong focus on building a digitally empowered generation to lead Malawi into the future.
