Kenya Expands Data Protection Services with Launch of ODPC Nyeri Regional Office
The Nyeri Regional Office will serve the Mt. Kenya region, providing citizens, businesses, and institutions with easier access to support, information, and enforcement related to data privacy and protection.

The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, Hon. William Kabogo, has officially launched the Nyeri Regional Office of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), in a move aimed at enhancing access to data protection services across the country.
The launch event was attended by Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, ICT Authority Board Director Salvio Wambugu, and Regional ICT Officer James Mburu. The new office marks an important milestone in ODPC’s ongoing efforts to bring services closer to the public and promote compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2019.
The Nyeri Regional Office will serve the Mt. Kenya region, providing citizens, businesses, and institutions with easier access to support, information, and enforcement related to data privacy and protection. This regional expansion is part of a broader national strategy to decentralize ODPC operations and strengthen Kenya’s digital economy through improved data governance.
