July 15, 2025

Author: Editorial Team

CAMTEL apologises to affected subscribers and reasserts its commitment to guaranteeing the quality, reliability, and security of its infrastructure throughout the country.

Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL)  wishes to inform its customers, partners, and the general public that a serious act of vandalism was perpetrated on Monday, 14 July 2025, against the company’s technical infrastructure in Mfou, Mefou and Afamba Division, Centre Region. This is the third act of sabotage recorded in this locality within a month (25 June, 10 and 14 July 2025). Critical equipment was ripped out and optical fibre cables severed, resulting in total disruption of services in the aforementioned area. This situation is affecting all subscribers across the board.

While condemning this umpteenth act of sabotage in the strongest possible terms, CAMTEL has referred the matter to the competent authorities so that light can be shed on the incident and the perpetrators identified, arrested, and brought before the competent courts. Our technical teams are busy working on the ground and all necessary resources have been deployed to restore service as soon as possible and strengthen the resilience of our network.

CAMTEL apologises to affected subscribers and reasserts its commitment to guaranteeing the quality, reliability, and security of its infrastructure throughout the country.

More than ever, CAMTEL would like to reemphasise that the national telecommunications network is a strategic asset at the service of Cameroon’s economy, society, and institutions. Protecting this network is therefore a collective and patriotic duty.
