Ghana Aims for AI Leadership in Africa, Welcomes Foreign Investment

The meeting highlighted a shared interest in developing secure, scalable, and energy-efficient data infrastructure, with a particular focus on AI capabilities, digital sovereignty, and capacity-building.

The Honorable Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a favorable environment for investments in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. He emphasized the country’s aspiration to become a continental leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure and innovation.

The delegation, led by President Mr. Abdullah Adam Syed, was in Ghana to explore potential collaborative opportunities within the country’s growing digital economy. Firnal Inc. is known for its expertise in developing next-generation data centers, including AI-ready infrastructure and sovereign cloud solutions.

“There is a need for investment in this area to support the rapid digitalisation journey in Ghana and we welcome Firnal as a partner as a reflection of our strong foundation for digital transformation.”

He invited Firnal Inc. to work closely with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to ensure their projects align with national policy and international best practices. The meeting highlighted a shared interest in developing secure, scalable, and energy-efficient data infrastructure, with a particular focus on AI capabilities, digital sovereignty, and capacity-building.

The Firnal Inc. delegation, which included local partner OMNI Strategies LTD, expressed confidence in Ghana’s potential as a strategic hub for AI and digital infrastructure in Africa.
