Kenya and Microsoft Explore Partnership on AI and Digital Transformation

Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, Hon. William Kabogo, held a meeting with a delegation from Microsoft to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The meeting took place at the Ministry Headquarters and included several key officials from both sides.
The discussions focused on a range of critical digital initiatives, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, and strengthening the security of public infrastructure and citizen data. The two parties also explored the possibility of rolling out digital hubs across the country.
A major topic of discussion was the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into government operations to improve service delivery, policymaking, and overall resilience. They also delved into how to enhance Data Governance & Compliance by promoting trusted cloud partnerships and sovereign control.
The Microsoft delegation was led by Corporate Vice President for Data and AI Customer Success, Rashida Hodge, and Corporate Vice President for Security, Customer Success & Incident Response, Aarti Borkar. The meeting was also attended by Kenya’s Principal Secretaries Stephen Isaboke and Eng. John Tanui, among other officials.
