Burkina Faso Launches ASI TALK to Train 500 Youth in Digital Innovation
The program aims to strengthen skills in innovation, leadership, and digital transformation through a combination of practical training, collective intelligence, and project support.
The ASI TALK program, an initiative by the African Society Informatics, was officially launched on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Ouagadougou. The program’s goal is to train 500 young people in the digital field throughout the months of August and September. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Digital Transition, Postes et Communications Electroniques, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, who was represented by her Task Force, Elise Kaba.
The program aims to strengthen skills in innovation, leadership, and digital transformation through a combination of practical training, collective intelligence, and project support. Its structure is based on three key pillars: training 500 young people in digital skills, organizing round tables to discuss issues related to digital transformation, and incubating and supporting the innovative projects developed by the trainees.
“We can no longer import our future. We have to code it, design it and secure it ourselves.”
– Martial Bani, Program Promoter, African Society Informatics
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, Elise KABA aligned the project with the government’s broader vision. She explained that the government aims to offer Burkinabe youth an environment conducive to the development of their talents.
“We want our youth to shift from technology consumers to creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs who can design solutions to meet our local challenges.”
– Elise Kaba, Representative of the Minister of Digital Transition, Postes et Communications Electroniques
