Bayobab Names Mohamed Bassit Chief Communication Platforms Officer

Mohamed will report directly to Mazen Mroue, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure.

Bayobab  has announced the appointment of Mohamed Bassit (Mohamed Abdelbassit) as its new Chief Communication Platforms Officer (CCPO), effective 1 September 2025. Mohamed will report directly to Mazen Mroue, CEO of MTN Digital Infrastructure.

Mohamed brings over 25 years of experience in the ICT and international wholesale telecoms sectors, with a strong track record in mobility services and digital infrastructure across the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. His leadership journey includes senior roles at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, where he served as Chief Wholesale Officer and Regional CEO for the Middle East & West Africa. During his tenure, he led the launch of a new fibre operation, established an international data centre in Nigeria, and oversaw the rollout of major connectivity projects across the continent.

Earlier in his career, Mohamed played a pivotal role at BICS, expanding its footprint across the MENA region and held leadership positions at GBI and MACH (now Syniverse).

Mohamed holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. He is also CCNA certified.
