U.S. EXIM Approves $100 Million Guarantee for Côte d’Ivoire Digital Transformation
The funding will support a national data center and digitalization initiatives in the country.
Top officials from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) will join U.S. technology firm Cybastion and a consortium of American tech companies at a press conference on September 22 to announce the first-ever EXIM approval of a $100 million financing guarantee in Côte d’Ivoire. The funding will support a national data center and digitalization initiatives in the country.
In August, EXIM’s Board of Directors approved more than $100 million in financing guarantees for two major projects. These include a $66 million guarantee for the construction of a national data center and a $47 million guarantee for the digitalization of the Ministry of Finance and Industry.
Cybastion, the lead exporter, will work with U.S. technology partners such as Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Schneider Electric to strengthen Côte d’Ivoire’s digital infrastructure. The projects are designed to modernize government services, enhance digital sovereignty, and improve the country’s overall resilience in the digital economy.
The financing is supported under EXIM’s China and Transformational Exports Program (CTEP), which aims to promote U.S. competitiveness in strategic markets. High-level U.S. government officials and a delegation from Côte d’Ivoire are expected to attend the press conference, underscoring the importance of U.S.–Côte d’Ivoire cooperation and the growing investment opportunities in Africa’s digital infrastructure sector.
