Morocco Engages OpenAI to Advance Research and Innovation

The discussions focused on strengthening Morocco’s role in the global artificial intelligence landscape while ensuring that new technologies are developed in line with the country’s cultural and societal context.

The Moroccan Minister, Amal El Falah Seghrouchni, held a meeting with representatives of OpenAI  to discuss potential avenues of cooperation in the fields of research and innovation.

The discussions focused on strengthening Morocco’s role in the global artificial intelligence landscape while ensuring that new technologies are developed in line with the country’s cultural and societal context. A key theme of the meeting was the creation of an AI ecosystem tailored to the specific needs and values of Moroccan society, positioning the nation to benefit from AI-driven solutions across sectors.

The talks mark an important step in advancing Morocco’s innovation agenda, as the government seeks to balance international collaboration with the development of homegrown AI applications that can address national priorities in areas such as education, governance, and sustainable development.
