Smart Zambia Brings Starlink Internet to Remote Moomba Chiefdom
This milestone is part of the Zambian government’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide, bringing fast and reliable internet connectivity to rural communities.

The Electronic Government Division of the Smart Zambia Institute (SZI) has successfully installed Starlink satellite internet kits in Moomba Chiefdom, one of the most remote areas within the Kazungula District’s Game Management Area.
This milestone is part of the Zambian government’s ongoing efforts to bridge the digital divide, bringing fast and reliable internet connectivity to rural communities. The initiative is designed to enable residents to access online government services through platforms such as the Zamportal, promoting inclusive digital participation.
As part of this rollout, key community institutions including Moomba Rural Health Clinic, Choonzo Primary School, and Kalamba Primary School have been connected to the network. These installations are expected to enhance the delivery of critical services, supporting education, healthcare, and local governance.
Speaking on the project, Smart Zambia emphasized that these efforts align with its mandate to provide secure, efficient, and dependable digital infrastructure, ensuring that no community is left behind in the country’s digital transformation journey.
Through initiatives like these, the government aims to strengthen service delivery in rural areas and foster socio-economic development by leveraging technology as a key enabler.
