Morocco Partners with Z.systems to Digitize 50,000 Retail Stores
The Z.systems agreement was signed alongside other initiatives, including a deal with WOLIZ Solution to expand digital payment access to 20,000 stores and extend its WOLIZ Pro app to 90,000 merchants.
Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has signed a landmark agreement with Z.systems contractor Trom to modernize 50,000 neighborhood retail stores through advanced digital solutions. The partnership, announced during a seminar in Salé under the banner “All for Morocco’s Trade 2030,” marks a major step in the country’s push to update internal trade and strengthen competitiveness ahead of the 2030 World Cup.
Under the agreement, Z.systems will provide small shopkeepers with digital tools to directly connect with major brands and distributors, streamline operations through loyalty programs, and integrate an instant performance e-wallet. The initiative is designed to boost financial inclusion, improve supply chain efficiency, and ensure that Morocco’s small merchants remain central players in the evolving digital economy.
The Ministry highlighted that this collaboration is part of a broader vision guided by King Mohammed VI to position trade as both an engine of growth and a pillar of social balance. By equipping traditional stores with modern technology, the project aims to bridge the gap between small-scale retailers and large supply networks, while fostering resilience in local commerce.
The Z.systems agreement was signed alongside other initiatives, including a deal with WOLIZ Solution to expand digital payment access to 20,000 stores and extend its WOLIZ Pro app to 90,000 merchants. Together, these projects signal Morocco’s commitment to building an inclusive, tech-enabled trade ecosystem capable of meeting national ambitions and global challenges.
