A delegation led by Dr. Dee Otibu Asare, Editor-in-Chief of New West Africa International, presented the award to the Minister at his office, commending his visionary approach to public service and forthrightness on national issues.

The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has been recognised by New West Africa International for his exemplary leadership, integrity, and outstanding contributions to Ghana’s communications and digital transformation agenda.

A delegation led by Dr. Dee Otibu Asare, Editor-in-Chief of New West Africa International, presented the award to the Minister at his office, commending his visionary approach to public service and forthrightness on national issues.

Dr. Asare praised Hon. George for his remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication, describing him as “a leader of integrity, intelligence, and strong moral conviction.” He noted that the Minister’s leadership style and commitment to national development make him one of the government’s most valuable assets.

Highlighting his ideological grounding, Dr. Asare stated that Hon. George draws inspiration from the principles of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, particularly the values of self-reliance and economic independence — ideals that continue to guide his work in advancing Ghana’s digital economy.

Hon. Samuel Nartey George, who also serves as Secretary General of the African Parliamentary Network on Work Governance and is a third-term Member of Parliament from the Greater Accra Region, has a distinguished record of public service. He sits on the governing board of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), contributing to the country’s digital policy direction and technological innovation.

Before his ministerial appointment, Hon. George worked as a Communications Specialist at the Presidency and later served in Parliament as Deputy Ranking Member of the Communications Select Committee, as well as a member of the Public Accounts Committee.

Expressing appreciation for the recognition, Hon. George thanked Dr. Asare and his team for the honour, reaffirming his dedication to promoting Ghana’s digital transformation and fostering inclusive, integrity-driven leadership.
