The training, held on October 7, forms part of the ongoing Airtel–UNICEF Reimagine Education Programme, which aims to bridge the digital divide while safeguarding children in the digital environment.

Airtel Nigeria,  in partnership with UNICEF,  has trained educators from more than 150 public schools across the country in an online workshop focused on child safety and digital protection. The training, held on October 7, forms part of the ongoing Airtel–UNICEF Reimagine Education Programme, which aims to bridge the digital divide while safeguarding children in the digital environment.

The Online Child Safety and Digital Protection Training for Teachers equipped participants with practical skills and up-to-date knowledge to help protect learners as they engage and explore online platforms. Sessions covered crucial topics including Digital Privacy and Protection, delivered by Airtel’s IT team, and Children’s Rights in the Digital Age, facilitated by UNICEF experts.

The initiative received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, with 99% of teachers reporting increased confidence and a deeper understanding of how to ensure online safety for students.

Through the Reimagine Education Programme, Airtel Nigeria and UNICEF are working together to expand internet connectivity in schools while promoting digital literacy, privacy awareness, and child protection. The partners emphasized that as digital learning becomes more widespread, ensuring a safe and inclusive online environment for children remains a top priority.

Airtel Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that the digital world becomes “a place of opportunity, not risk, for every child.”
