Government of Guinea Kicks Off 3rd R-CUN Program to Boost Digital Skills Nationwide
This new edition of the R-CUN program underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to making digital innovation a lever for education, inclusion, and sustainable development.
The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy (MPTEN) of Guinea, in collaboration with the National Agency for the Universal Telecommunications and Digital Service (ANSUTEN), has officially launched the third edition of the Digital Capacity Building Program (R-CUN) on October 7, 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Mrs. Rose Pola Pricemou, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy, alongside Mr. Mourana Soumah, Minister of Economy and Finance. The event brought together members of government, development partners, educators, digital entrepreneurs, and students, all sharing a common vision — to make digital technology a key driver of a strong, competitive, and sovereign Guinea.
The R-CUN program, initiated by ANSUTEN, is a flagship component of the national digital transformation strategy and directly supports the Simandou 2040 vision set forth by the Head of State. After two successful editions that saw 450 young people trained, 43 certified, and over 300 women empowered, this third edition seeks to broaden its reach and deepen its impact. The new phase aims to train 1,500 students to use digital tools strategically, while 130 learners from ICT disciplines will pursue internationally recognized certification programs.
In her address, Minister Rose Pola Pricemou reaffirmed MPTEN’s dedication to digital inclusion and gender empowerment. She highlighted several ongoing initiatives targeting women, including specialized training for 100 participants in digital solutions development across Conakry, Mamou, and Labé, which will culminate in a national hackathon during the Transform Africa Summit. Additionally, 400 women will soon benefit from digital marketing training, thanks to a partnership with Orange Guinea, further strengthening women’s participation in the country’s digital economy.
This new edition of the R-CUN program underscores the government’s unwavering commitment to making digital innovation a lever for education, inclusion, and sustainable development. By equipping young people and women with essential digital skills and certifications, Guinea is taking significant steps toward becoming a modern, competitive, and digitally sovereign nation. The program also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between the public sector, private industry, and development partners in driving the country’s digital transformation agenda.
