Liberia Girl Guides Partner with LTA to Promote Cyber Awareness During Cybersecurity Month
The initiative blended education with engagement, as LGGA members distributed cookies and brownies printed with cybersecurity tips, promoting digital safety in a unique and memorable way.

In celebration of Cybersecurity Month, the Liberia Girl Guides Association (LGGA) brought creativity and advocacy together in an interactive visit to the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) headquarters. The initiative blended education with engagement, as LGGA members distributed cookies and brownies printed with cybersecurity tips, promoting digital safety in a unique and memorable way.
The event began with a theatrical skit performed by LGGA members, dramatizing the risks and consequences of cyber scams. The performance effectively captured the importance of digital vigilance and set the tone for broader discussions on cybersecurity awareness.
The visit formed part of the LTA’s Cybersecurity Month activities, organized under the Department on International Gateway Services and Internet Governance, led by Commissioner Angela Cassell-Bush. The month-long commemoration includes various initiatives to promote safe digital practices and responsible online behavior across Liberia’s public and private sectors.
Following their performance, LGGA members toured the LTA headquarters, engaging staff across departments with practical cybersecurity messages and interactive discussions. Their edible awareness campaign — featuring treats labeled with safety reminders — emphasized everyday actions individuals can take to protect personal and institutional data.
LTA Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi commended the LGGA’s innovative approach to public education and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting youth-led initiatives that enhance cyber awareness and resilience.
The event underscored Liberia’s growing focus on building a national cybersecurity culture, showcasing how youth participation and institutional partnership can work hand in hand to foster a safer digital environment for all.
