CRAN and NAMPOL Strengthen Collaboration to Enhance Namibia’s Cybersecurity Readiness

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) reinforced its commitment to national cybersecurity by engaging in a strategic meeting with the Namibia Police Force (NAMPOL) to strengthen cooperation in protecting the nation’s digital landscape.
CRAN’s Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Namibia Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (Nam-CSIRT), Mrs. Emilia Nghikembua, led the Authority’s Executive Team on a courtesy visit to NAMPOL Headquarters. The delegation met with Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, Inspector General of the Namibia Police, and his executive team to discuss Nam-CSIRT’s mandate, assess Namibia’s cybersecurity readiness, and explore avenues for collaboration aimed at bolstering digital resilience across the country.
The discussions underscored the importance of unified efforts among national institutions to strengthen cybersecurity defenses, improve incident response coordination, and protect citizens, businesses, and critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
