October 29, 2025

The event brings together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and civil society to foster collaboration in building a more inclusive and connected digital ecosystem.

Zambia has taken another major step toward strengthening its digital transformation agenda with the opening of the National Workshop on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in Livingstone. The event brings together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, and civil society to foster collaboration in building a more inclusive and connected digital ecosystem.

Speaking at the opening session, SMART Zambia Government Chief Technical Officer (GCTO) Ms. Kasali Musenge emphasized that the DPI framework is founded on collaboration and inclusion, serving as the foundation for efficient, modern, and citizen-centered public service delivery.

The workshop is hosted by the SMART Zambia Institute in partnership with the World Bank, which has committed US$100 million to the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project (DZAP). The initiative seeks to strengthen institutional trust, align national digital standards, and develop DPI service models that prioritize accessibility, transparency, and citizen engagement.

This engagement underscores Zambia’s broader vision to build a resilient, inclusive, and innovative digital society. It reflects the government’s determination to ensure that no one is left behind as the country moves toward a smarter and more connected future.
