Orange Sierra Leone Expands Network Coverage with New Site in Tonkolili District

The Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation joined Orange Sierra Leone to officially inaugurate a new network site in Mathonkra, Tenie Chiefdom, expanding access to fast and reliable mobile connectivity for thousands of residents in the region.
The launch represents a key milestone in strengthening Sierra Leone’s digital backbone, improving connectivity for education, business, and community development. The new installation is part of Orange Sierra Leone’s wider strategy to enhance rural coverage and advance national digital inclusion.
Across the country, Orange Sierra Leone continues to expand its infrastructure footprint, now operating over 616 sites and deploying green energy solutions across 70% of its network. The company has also constructed 40 new sites this year and invested $50 million to modernize its entire network, ensuring it is fully 4G and 5G-ready.
This latest expansion underscores Orange Sierra Leone’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting the government’s vision of a connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered nation, where no community is left behind in the digital revolution.
