MTN’s Anti-DDoS Solution detects and mitigates malicious cyber traffic aimed at overwhelming online services, such as websites or servers, by flooding them with excessive data requests.

MTN Rwanda  has unveiled its Anti-DDoS Solution, a new cybersecurity offering designed to protect Rwandan businesses from Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, ensuring network security, reliability, and continuous connectivity in an increasingly digital economy.

Speaking at the launch event, MTN Rwanda CEO Monzer A. emphasized the company’s commitment to safeguarding the digital ecosystem, stating that their mission was to enable a modern, connected life for all — built on security, reliability, and innovation. He further noted that the MTN Anti-DDoS Solution was designed to strengthen digital resilience and empower enterprises to thrive with confidence.

MTN’s Anti-DDoS Solution detects and mitigates malicious cyber traffic aimed at overwhelming online services, such as websites or servers, by flooding them with excessive data requests. The system continuously monitors network traffic, identifies unusual patterns, and filters out harmful requests while allowing legitimate users uninterrupted access.

“As digital transformation accelerates, cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated. With the MTN Anti-DDoS Solution, we are ensuring Rwandan businesses stay connected, secure, and resilient. MTN remains a trusted digital partner that empowers enterprises to safeguard their operations and thrive in the digital era.”

Didas Ndoli, Representative, MTN Rwanda

The service offers 24/7 automatic protection, real-time monitoring and reporting, and seamless traffic filtering without affecting legitimate users. It is scalable to suit businesses of all sizes, providing defense against network floods, protocol exploits, and application-layer attacks.

Industries set to benefit most from this solution include banking, telecoms, e-commerce, healthcare, government institutions, and SMEs providing online services. MTN’s Network Security Operations Center (SOC) will provide continuous support and rapid response during active cyber incidents to ensure zero downtime and business continuity.

With this launch, MTN Rwanda reinforces its position as a leading enabler of secure digital transformation in the country, empowering organizations to operate confidently in today’s evolving cybersecurity landscape.
