Databricks Launches on Google Cloud to Boost AI and Data Innovation in Saudi Arabia
The launch follows the opening of Databricks’ Riyadh office in December 2024 and a $300 million investment aimed at accelerating data and AI transformation for local customers.
Databricks, the Data and AI company, has announced the availability of its platform on Google Cloud for customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This local presence allows organizations to build and scale AI applications and agents on enterprise data with enhanced speed, security, and governance. The launch follows the opening of Databricks’ Riyadh office in December 2024 and a $300 million investment aimed at accelerating data and AI transformation for local customers.
Many enterprises in KSA face fragmented data systems, siloed analytics, and increasing pressure to deliver AI-driven business impact while adhering to local regulations. Databricks addresses these challenges by providing a multi-cloud data and AI platform that enables innovation, revenue growth, cost reduction, and risk management. In the coming months, Saudi customers will gain access to Databricks’ Agent Bricks AI product and frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google’s Gemini family, and Meta Llama, all governed securely via Unity Catalog.
Key benefits of running Databricks on Google Cloud in KSA include a unified, governed AI infrastructure, dynamic scalability across open standards, robust security and compliance leveraging Google Cloud’s IAM and Cloud DLP, cost efficiency through pay-as-you-go pricing, and open interoperability across clouds with zero lock-in and zero-copy data sharing.
Several local enterprises are already leveraging Databricks to accelerate AI initiatives. Najm, in partnership with Baseerah, is deploying a new Lakehouse platform to scale AI agents, enhance customer experience, and support partners. Beyond ONE is using Databricks on Google Cloud to transform telco-scale data into real-time intelligence, delivering hyper-personalized customer experiences.
Additionally, CNTXT, a Middle East cloud and digital transformation company, will support KSA enterprises in adopting Databricks on Google Cloud. The combined innovation and scalability of Databricks and Google Cloud are expected to help local enterprises accelerate data and AI strategies in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
