This project represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in Namibia, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive digital development and social and economic empowerment in rural areas.

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has launched the first network tower under Namibia’s Universal Service Fund (USF) in Epinga, Omundaungilo Constituency, Ohangwena Region. The tower is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to expand digital access to underserved and remote communities.

The USF initiative aims to provide reliable connectivity to areas that previously had no telecommunication coverage, ensuring that all Namibians can participate in the country’s digital progress. The Epinga tower now offers 4G broadband data and voice services, benefiting local residents as well as key public institutions, including Shimbode Primary School and Epinga Clinic.

This project represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in Namibia, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive digital development and social and economic empowerment in rural areas.
