November 25, 2025
2 min read

The Wage Protection System (WPS), mandated by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, is the national framework that ensures employees receive their salaries securely, transparently, and on time through approved financial channels.

botim money,  the financial services arm of Astra Tech, has entered a long-term partnership with City Exchange, a leading UAE payroll processor, to launch a co-branded Salary Card. The initiative aims to expand digital salary access and accelerate financial inclusion for workers across the country. The Wage Protection System (WPS), mandated by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, ensures employees receive their salaries securely and on time through approved financial channels. This partnership enhances botim money’s WPS capabilities, providing employers with a smoother digital payroll solution and workers with an improved, app-based salary experience.

The collaboration integrates City Exchange’s payroll infrastructure into botim’s digital ecosystem, enabling real-time salary disbursement for thousands of employees across the UAE. The co-branded Salary Card allows workers instant access to their earnings and a convenient way to use botim’s financial services, including money transfers, low-cost remittances, payments, access to credit, and investment options. By giving employees immediate control over their earnings, the initiative helps them manage transfers, payments, and savings from the moment they are paid.

The partnership also positions City Exchange as a future-ready payroll innovator, helping corporate clients shift toward digital-first salary disbursement. It streamlines onboarding, expands customer reach, and supports nationwide WPS adoption, contributing to the UAE’s broader vision of an inclusive and technology-enabled financial ecosystem.

As botim money continues to grow its services across payments, remittances, and digital finance, the collaboration with City Exchange represents a significant step in delivering safe, convenient, and connected financial access for workers across the UAE.
