The platform, unveiled at an event attended by government officials and industry leaders, is designed to connect manufacturers, streamline supply chains, and ease longstanding challenges related to distribution and market access.

The Ministry of Industry,  in partnership with Ethio Telecom,  has launched E-Tamirt, a new B2B e-commerce platform aimed at modernizing Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector and accelerating its shift toward digital trade.

The platform, unveiled at an event attended by government officials and industry leaders, is designed to connect manufacturers, streamline supply chains, and ease longstanding challenges related to distribution and market access.

Minister of Industry Melaku Alebel said the platform will enable manufacturers to bring their products to both local and African markets more cost-effectively. He highlighted that a modern trade system is essential for improving productivity and supporting the country’s industrial ambitions.

According to the Minister, E-Tamirt is positioned to enhance production capacity, promote innovation, and strengthen Ethiopia’s long-term competitiveness in global markets. By boosting the performance of local industries, the platform is also expected to reduce reliance on imported goods.

Industry representatives welcomed the initiative, describing it as a turning point for Ethiopia’s manufacturing landscape. They noted that E-Tamirt will help resolve key bottlenecks in market linkages and supply chains, thereby increasing the competitiveness of Ethiopian-made products.

An exhibition and registration program related to the platform, hosted at the Science Museum, will continue until Hidar 24, 2018 E.C.
