Egypt Accelerates Digital Health with New National Data Roadmap
This national digital platform integrates multiple levels of the health system, administrative authorities, and local officials, supporting immediate communication and collaboration in managing health services.
Egypt’s Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry for Digital Transformation, held a high-level joint work meeting to assess progress and strengthen the implementation of the country’s digital transformation roadmap in the health sector. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Health Mohammed Mahmoud Ael Mahmoud and Minister for Digital Transformation Ahmed Salem Ashfa, alongside the Prime Minister of Administration.
During the session, the Ministry of Health outlined its next-phase priorities, which include the digitalization of epidemic information, the creation of a national vaccination database, and the management of health infrastructure, medical equipment, and supplies. These initiatives aim to ensure accurate information, facilitate effective planning, and enhance the efficiency of health interventions across the country.
The Health Community Platform was highlighted as a key opportunity for improving coordination and data exchange. This national digital platform integrates multiple levels of the health system, administrative authorities, and local officials, supporting immediate communication and collaboration in managing health services.
The Ministry for Digital Transformation reaffirmed its support for these initiatives, providing technical solutions, system integration, and accelerating project delivery to enhance the quality and accessibility of health services. The meeting included technical teams from the health sector, local development authorities, and digital transformation units, ensuring a coordinated approach to advancing Egypt’s digital health agenda.
