SMART Zambia and Zesco Sign MoU to Expand National Digital Infrastructure

The initiative is designed to modernize how government institutions operate, bridge gaps in access to essential digital services, and ensure that citizens benefit from more efficient, technology-driven public systems.

SMART Zambia Institute  and Zesco Limited  have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at accelerating the expansion of digital infrastructure across key public service sectors. The partnership will support the rollout of enhanced connectivity and technology solutions to schools, health facilities, and police stations nationwide, strengthening the foundations for improved service delivery.

The initiative is designed to modernize how government institutions operate, bridge gaps in access to essential digital services, and ensure that citizens benefit from more efficient, technology-driven public systems. By integrating Zesco’s national power and infrastructure capabilities with SMART Zambia’s digital transformation mandate, the collaboration aims to create a more connected and responsive public sector.

The agreement was formalized by SMART Zambia National Coordinator Percy Chinyama and Zesco Managing Director Eng. Justin Loongo, who signed on behalf of their respective organizations.
