December 16, 2025
2 min read

By unlocking new digital payment opportunities, the initiative is expected to support business growth and enhance financial access for communities across Zambia.

FNB Zambia  has officially partnered with MTN MoMo  to launch the MoMo on FNB POS solution, enabling customers to make MTN Mobile Money payments directly on FNB point-of-sale machines. The new service marks a significant step in expanding cashless payment options for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as everyday consumers across Zambia.

The solution allows merchants to accept MTN MoMo payments seamlessly at FNB POS terminals, improving transaction speed, safety, and convenience. By integrating mobile money with traditional POS infrastructure, the initiative supports businesses in reducing cash handling while offering customers more flexible payment choices.

The launch event was attended by key stakeholders from both organisations and the business community, including Mr. Alinani Simumba, President of the Kitwe Chamber of Commerce; Kabanda Lilanda, FNB Head of Business and Commercial; Elias Chembe, MTN Northern Regional Director; Chikondi Mwanza, MTN Chief Products Officer; and Luyanga Mufungulwa, FNB Head of Corporate and Investment Banking. Speakers highlighted the importance of collaboration in broadening access to digital financial services.

The partnership underscores FNB Zambia and MTN MoMo’s shared commitment to innovation, interoperability, and financial inclusion. By unlocking new digital payment opportunities, the initiative is expected to support business growth and enhance financial access for communities across Zambia.
