Chad’s ADETIC Joins UN’s International Telecommunication Union
Through active engagement in ITU activities, ADETIC aims to strengthen its capacity to implement innovative and inclusive digital policies, supporting Chad’s emergence as a key player in the global digital economy.
The Agency for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ADETIC) has officially been admitted to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICT).
ADETIC joins the ITU as a Member of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D), following a welcome letter signed by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. This membership marks a significant milestone in Chad’s national digital development strategy.
By joining the ITU, ADETIC gains access to a global platform that unites 194 Member States and over 1,000 organizations from the private sector, academia, and international institutions. This collaboration provides the Agency with critical expertise, best practices, and resources needed to tackle major ICT challenges in Chad.
Through active engagement in ITU activities, ADETIC aims to strengthen its capacity to implement innovative and inclusive digital policies, supporting Chad’s emergence as a key player in the global digital economy. The Agency’s membership will also enhance its network of international partners, accelerating the country’s digital transformation.
ADETIC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring universal and high-quality access to communication and information services under ITU standards. This aligns with Chad’s “Chad Connection 2030” national development strategy, spearheaded by President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, aimed at promoting digital inclusion and socio-economic growth.
