This strategic expansion underscores OpenText’s long-term commitment to the Kingdom and the region’s rapidly growing digital economy.

OpenText™,  a global leader in secure information management and one of Canada’s foremost technology companies, has officially opened its Middle East regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This strategic expansion underscores OpenText’s long-term commitment to the Kingdom and the region’s rapidly growing digital economy.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Canada’s Minister of International Trade and Economic Development, Hon. Maninder Sidhu, and His Excellency Jean-Philippe Linteau, Canada’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Minister Sidhu highlighted the significance of the expansion, noting that OpenText’s presence reflects the growing commercial and technological ties between Canada and Saudi Arabia, while supporting the Kingdom’s ambitions for digital transformation and enterprise AI adoption.

Located in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), the Riyadh headquarters will serve as a central hub for OpenText’s customers and partners across the Middle East. The office aims to facilitate closer collaboration with both government and private sector organizations as they move from AI experimentation to secure, enterprise-scale deployment. Muhi Majzoub, EVP Cybersecurity at OpenText, emphasized that the company’s local presence will allow organizations to turn trusted data into actionable intelligence, fostering innovation, resilience, and long-term growth.

OpenText’s Riyadh headquarters strengthens the company’s ability to provide localized expertise and rapid support for organizations navigating evolving requirements in data sovereignty, security, and compliance. The company plans to expand its local workforce, develop strategic partnerships, and deepen engagement with government stakeholders, tailoring solutions to align with Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification and digital development goals.

George Schembri, Vice President and General Manager for the Middle East at OpenText, noted that the Kingdom’s focus on AI and digital transformation presents a significant opportunity for organizations to unlock value from their information. With OpenText’s combination of global expertise and local insight, customers can securely manage data, scale AI initiatives, and compete globally, while contributing to the region’s growing knowledge-based economy.

Through this strategic regional expansion, OpenText is positioned to empower Middle Eastern organizations to accelerate digital transformation, strengthen information security, and leverage data as a sustainable competitive advantage, supporting the Kingdom’s vision of economic and technological leadership in the region.
