The approval is a key part of Radio Electronic’s 2026 strategy, focusing on integrating next-generation LEO technology into Namibia’s communications ecosystem while expanding high-performance, reliable connectivity across maritime, enterprise, mission-critical, and underserved regions.

Namibia has taken a major step forward in its digital and communications landscape, with Radio Electronic (PTY) Ltd,  through its licensed subsidiary Blue Telecommunications, securing regulatory approval to provide Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services. This milestone enables the introduction of Eutelsat  OneWeb connectivity in the country.

The approval is a key part of Radio Electronic’s 2026 strategy, focusing on integrating next-generation LEO technology into Namibia’s communications ecosystem while expanding high-performance, reliable connectivity across maritime, enterprise, mission-critical, and underserved regions.

LEO satellite technology offers low-latency, high-speed broadband, enhancing operational resilience, digital inclusion, and supporting economic growth. The move underscores Namibia’s commitment to adopting future-ready connectivity solutions and advancing its national digital transformation agenda.

Radio Electronic highlighted that the achievement reflects its dedication to integrating globally proven technology through a locally licensed framework, while expanding access to resilient communication networks.
