The initiative aims to provide nationwide internet connectivity for schools, particularly in remote and underserved areas, helping bridge the digital divide.

The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services in Zimbabwe  has donated 8,000 Starlink internet kits to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education as part of the Presidential Internet Scheme. The handover took place today, with Minister Tatenda Mavetera presenting the kits to Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Hon. Prof. Torerayi Moyo.

The initiative aims to provide nationwide internet connectivity for schools, particularly in remote and underserved areas, helping bridge the digital divide. Minister Mavetera emphasized that the programme is designed to ensure all learners across Zimbabwe have access to affordable and reliable internet, enhancing digital learning and access to global educational resources.

The deployment of these internet kits is expected to prepare students to participate competitively in the digital economy, while supporting the Government’s broader efforts to modernize the education sector and promote inclusive access to information and communication technologies for all learners.

This milestone reflects Zimbabwe’s commitment to integrating digital tools in education and empowering students with the skills and connectivity needed for the 21st century.
