The facilities are designed to strengthen human capacity, foster a culture of creativity, and prepare professionals to lead the financial sector’s digital transformation.

The Institute of Banking Studies  has officially inaugurated the Jordanian Fentek Academy building along with the Fentek Laboratory, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to advance financial technology and innovation. The opening aligns with the Executive Program for Economic Update 2026–2029, reflecting Jordan’s commitment to digital transformation in the financial sector.

Dr. Adel Al-Sharkas, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan and Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors, highlighted that the Academy and its laboratory represent a national and regional first, providing a specialized hub for nurturing innovation in FinTech. The facilities are designed to strengthen human capacity, foster a culture of creativity, and prepare professionals to lead the financial sector’s digital transformation.

The Fentek Lab serves as an applied training environment, combining theory with hands-on practice. Trainees can develop innovative digital financial solutions, enhance their technical skills, and consolidate an innovation-driven mindset. The lab is an integral part of the Academy’s mission to equip Jordanian talent with the expertise needed in FinTech and financial innovation.

Dr. Riyadh Hindawi, Director of the Institute of Banking Studies, announced that the 2026 training plan has been launched alongside the inauguration. The plan offers advanced programs aligned with international standards, covering areas such as financial technology, artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, blockchain, digital payments, and digital transformation. These programs aim to produce highly skilled professionals ready to meet the evolving demands of the financial and banking sectors.

The new Academy building features smart training halls and an art lab, outfitted with cutting-edge technology to provide a fully integrated learning environment. These facilities are designed to support practical skill development, foster innovation, and prepare talent for current and future labor market requirements.

The launch of the Fentek Academy building, Fentek Lab, and the 2026 training program underscores Jordan’s ambition to build a competitive digital economy and reinforce its position as a regional hub for financial technology and innovation. The initiative reflects a strategic investment in human capital and innovation as central drivers of economic growth and financial sector modernization.
