High-Level Talks Set Stage for Expanded U.S.–Burkina Faso Digital Cooperation

Burkina Faso is set to deepen its digital cooperation with the United States following a high-level meeting between the Minister of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, and the U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Joann M. Lockard, on January 21, 2026. The meeting highlighted prospects for expanded collaboration in the digital sector throughout the year.
The U.S. Ambassador commended the Ministry for its productive partnership in 2025, including the involvement of American companies in sponsoring activities during the 20th edition of Burkina Faso’s Digital Week. She expressed the United States’ commitment to continuing support for the country’s technology sector in 2026, particularly in strengthening capacity-building initiatives within the IT sector.
