This makes MTN MoMo the first mobile money provider in Zambia to offer direct wallet-to-bank transfers to these global markets, while also positioning the service as the most affordable international money transfer option currently available.

MTN Mobile Money Zambia  has launched a new international remittance service, enabling customers to send money directly from their MoMo wallets to bank accounts across the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada. This makes MTN MoMo the first mobile money provider in Zambia to offer direct wallet-to-bank transfers to these global markets, while also positioning the service as the most affordable international money transfer option currently available.

The new service allows customers to send money for as little as K5, significantly reducing the high costs typically associated with cross-border transfers. Transactions are designed to be fast, secure, and fully compliant, using standard banking identifiers such as IBAN, SWIFT, Sort Codes, and Routing Numbers. MTN Mobile Money Zambia CEO Komba Malukutila highlighted that the launch addresses customer demand for affordable, accessible, and reliable global payment solutions.
