This initiative aims to expand access to information and communication technologies (ICT) for rural and historically underserved communities.

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN)  has marked a key milestone in Ehomba, Kunene Region, with the launch of new connectivity infrastructure funded through the Universal Service Fund (USF). This initiative aims to expand access to information and communication technologies (ICT) for rural and historically underserved communities.

Improved connectivity is expected to enhance access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and public services, strengthening both social and economic inclusion in the region. The project highlights the importance of collaboration between government, regulators, traditional leaders, industry stakeholders, and local communities in closing Namibia’s digital divide and advancing the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.
