The new infrastructure provides two secure international routes via South Africa and Nigeria, aimed at strengthening network reliability, international capacity, and reducing latency to Europe and major online platforms.

MTN Congo  has officially commissioned the 2Africa international optical fibre, linking Pointe-Noire directly to London and marking a significant step in enhancing the country’s digital connectivity. The new infrastructure provides two secure international routes via South Africa and Nigeria, aimed at strengthening network reliability, international capacity, and reducing latency to Europe and major online platforms.

The upgrade is expected to improve streaming, cloud services, video conferencing, and digital financial transactions for both consumers and enterprises. Alongside the existing WACS network, the 2Africa connection reinforces Congo’s position as a regional digital hub.

End users can anticipate faster internet navigation, higher-quality streaming and video calls, and more secure enterprise connectivity. MTN Congo affirmed its ongoing commitment to investing in advanced digital infrastructure to support the country’s digital growth and technological development.
