Under the framework of Tunisia’s 2026–2030 Development Plan, a unified national vision for digital transformation has been established, identifying strategic goals, priorities, and timelines.

The Tunisian government has intensified its focus on digital transformation, with the administration’s progress in related projects taking center stage at a recent ministerial council. The council, held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Government Palace in Qasaba, was chaired by the Prime Minister, Mrs. Sarah Zafrani Al-Zanzari, and emphasized the critical role of digitalization in strengthening the national economy, improving public service delivery, and combating corruption. The Prime Minister highlighted that completing all digital projects within their deadlines is essential to simplifying administrative procedures, reducing bureaucracy, boosting investor confidence, and enhancing the competitiveness of Tunisia’s economy both regionally and internationally.

Under the framework of Tunisia’s 2026–2030 Development Plan, a unified national vision for digital transformation has been established, identifying strategic goals, priorities, and timelines. The Prime Minister indicated that 2026 marks the launch of full-scale digitalization of the administration, which is expected to streamline administrative processes, curb monopolies and illicit practices, and serve as a driver for economic growth.

During the council, the Minister of Telecommunication Technologies, Mr. Sufyan Al-Hamisi, reviewed key projects completed by 2025, including the Unified Gateway for Administrative Services, electronic stamping, the first phase of the Digital Hospital, the national project monitoring platform, remote ID card services for students, the national platform for building permits, and systems for social affairs, export facilitation, and private company registration. These projects are integrated into a national platform designed to monitor public initiatives and ensure effective implementation.

The council also presented updates on ongoing and upcoming projects, with 192 initiatives currently under active follow-up. Discussions addressed measures to overcome implementation challenges across ministries and public institutions. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the necessity of completing all digital transformation projects within their designated timelines, expanding electronic payment systems, and interlinking citizen services. She stressed that citizen-centric digital services not only enhance convenience and service delivery but also strengthen Tunisia’s investment climate and fight corruption.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of incorporating cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and open data principles into the administration’s digital transformation, while also recommending a national outreach plan to inform citizens about available digital services and encourage their uptake. The government reiterated that full digitization is a strategic imperative to improve efficiency, transparency, and innovation across public administration.
