Rwanda and Japan Advance Talks on Human Capital Development and AI Collaboration

The Ministry of ICT and Innovation has reaffirmed Rwanda’s commitment to deepening its technology and innovation partnerships following a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda.
Minister Paula Musoni received His Excellency Nakajo Kazuya, during which both parties reviewed existing areas of cooperation between Rwanda and Japan and discussed avenues for strengthening bilateral relations.
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in human capital development, with an emphasis on skills development to support Rwanda’s digital transformation agenda. The meeting also explored opportunities for joint initiatives in data-driven innovation and artificial intelligence, reflecting shared interests in leveraging emerging technologies for sustainable development.
