Vodacom and Lesotho Officials Discuss Plans to Accelerate Government Digitization

Vodafone Egypt CEO Mr. Mohamed Abdullah, together with executives from Vodacom International Markets and Vodacom Lesotho , paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Nthati Moorosi, Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI). The meeting focused on exploring potential digital partnerships aimed at supporting the Lesotho government’s digitization agenda.
The discussions highlighted opportunities for Vodacom to assist Lesotho in implementing digital solutions, building on the company’s experience supporting government digital initiatives in Kenya and Egypt. The visit underscored Vodafone’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive public sector transformation and enhance service delivery.
Representing the Vodacom Group were Mr. Ayman Essam, Chief Officer of Regulatory and External Affairs, Vodacom Group; Mr. Mohale Ralebitso, CEO of Vodacom Lesotho; and Mr. Tšepo Ntaopane, Head of Regulatory and External Affairs, Vodacom Lesotho. MICSTI was represented by Hon. Minister Moorosi, Principal Secretary Mr. Kanono Ramashamole, Director of ICT Mr. Thapeli Tjabane, and Chief Legal Advisor Ms. Makamohelo Mofilikoane.
The meeting laid the groundwork for a potential partnership to advance digital government services in Lesotho, leveraging Vodacom’s expertise in technology-driven public sector solutions.
