Algeria Telecom to Deploy 345 New 4G Base Stations Nationwide

February 18, 2026
2 min read

The new base stations, equipped with the latest technology, will allow Algeria Telecom to respond to the growing and diverse demand for digital services and uses of Algeria Telecom's customers.

Algeria Telecom  has launched a broad plan to strengthen and modernize its technical infrastructure across several provinces of the country, which includes the installation of 345 4G LTE (eNodeB) base stations across 44 provinces.

In its first phase, which will run until next March, the Coverage Network Enhancement Program is currently being implemented with the installation of 195 base stations.

In addition to geographical expansion of 4G network coverage in remote areas, this strategic expansion of these new base stations aims to strengthen the network in densely populated areas, ensuring very high flows and improving the quality of use to become more stable and faster.

The new base stations, equipped with the latest technology, will allow Algeria Telecom to respond to the growing and diverse demand for digital services and uses of Algeria Telecom’s customers.

The network enhancement scheme gives priority to areas with high demand for connectivity services. Additional installations are expected soon to ensure equitable and effective coverage at the national level during the second phase of the programme, which will see the installation of at least 150 new 4G-LTE base stations.

With this important network enhancement program, Algeria Telecom renews its commitment to providing the best connectivity services to its customers, and contributing to supporting Algeria’s economic development, innovation and digital transformation.
