Zimbabwe’s Ministry of ICT Distributes Starlink Kits to Promote Inclusive Digital Access
This initiative aims to provide inclusive access to digital resources, enhancing digital literacy and enabling access to online learning platforms and virtual classrooms.
The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services is advancing efforts to bridge the digital divide in Zimbabwe by distributing Starlink kits to key institutions in Harare. Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, personally handed over the kits to Danhiko, St Giles, and Jairos Jiri Harare, facilitated by Councilor Mabhaudhi.
This initiative aims to provide inclusive access to digital resources, enhancing digital literacy and enabling access to online learning platforms and virtual classrooms. It is expected to particularly benefit persons living with disabilities, supporting improved learning outcomes and ensuring equitable access to digital tools.
The Ministry is also reviewing policies, including the Digital Centres policy, to ensure that digital centres are physically accessible to differently-abled persons. This move reflects the government’s broader vision of leaving no one and no place behind in the digital transformation of Zimbabwe.
