Smart Africa Delivers High-Level Spectrum Management Training at MWC Barcelona 2026

As part of its ongoing collaboration with GSMA, Smart Africa conducted a high-level training on Spectrum Management for Mobile Telecommunications through the World Bank-funded Smart Africa Digital Academy (SADA) DTfA/WARDIP program, held on the sidelines of MWC Barcelona 2026.
The initiative underscores the shared understanding between Smart Africa and GSMA that effective spectrum policy is essential for driving investment, fostering competition, and expanding digital infrastructure across Africa.
As African countries accelerate broadband deployment and prepare for next-generation technologies, strengthening regulatory capacity is recognized as a key factor in unlocking sustainable digital growth and advancing the continent’s Single Digital Market.
Through the SADA WARDIP program, Smart Africa continues its commitment to developing a critical mass of telecom policymakers and regulators. The program equips them to design forward-looking, harmonized spectrum frameworks that promote innovation, inclusion, and the continent’s digital transformation.
