March 3, 2026
2 min read

The competition features Capture The Flag (CTF)‑style challenges alongside capacity-building activities designed to enhance Kenya’s digital security posture.

The Ministry of Information, Communications & The Digital Economy,  in collaboration with the ICT Authority,  has officially launched the 2026 edition of CyberGame Kenya, a nationwide initiative aimed at bolstering digital security across the country. The event was inaugurated virtually by the Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, Eng. John Tanui, CBS.

CyberGame Kenya 2026, themed Securing Kenya’s Digital Future, commenced on 1 March and will run until 9 May 2026. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural edition, the competition has sparked a nationwide interest in cybersecurity excellence, attracting students, professionals, and enthusiasts from across the country.

The competition features Capture The Flag (CTF)‑style challenges alongside capacity-building activities designed to enhance Kenya’s digital security posture. Participants engage in simulations of real cyber threats, developing skills to protect critical systems such as financial services, healthcare, and government data.

Among the distinguished attendees were H.E. Maroš Mitrík, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Kenya; Emmanuel Kata, Secretary of the ICT Security Directorate; representatives from NC4 and the Communications Authority of Kenya; and officials from the State Department.

CyberGame Kenya serves as both a competitive platform and a training ground, preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals to defend Kenya’s critical digital infrastructure against emerging threats.
