Morocco and Portugal Sign MoU to Strengthen Data Protection Cooperation
The MoU seeks to enhance partnership and collaboration between the two institutions on issues of mutual interest, particularly in the area of safeguarding personal data and reinforcing regulatory cooperation between Morocco and Portugal.
Morocco’s National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP) and Portugal’s National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of personal data protection.
The agreement was signed on February 25, 2026, at the headquarters of the CNPD in Lisbon. The signatories were Ms. Paula Meira Lourenço, President of Portugal’s National Data Protection Commission (CNPD), and Mr. Omar Seghrouchni, President of Morocco’s National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
